Dr. Fleischer taught northern Renaissance and Baroque art plus Colonial American art at Penn State from 1974 to 1996. His many publications include Ludolf de Jongh: Painter of Rotterdam (Doornspijk, Holland) andGustavus Hesselius: Face Painter to the Middle Colonies (New Jersey State Museum, Trenton). He was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Fine Arts from Western Maryland College in 1993. Dr. Fleischer is currently writing a book on Abraham Hondius: Painter of Holland and England, to be published by Davaco Publishers Doornspijk, Holland).
