Han Chen received her B.A. and M.A. in art history from China Academy of Art. Her current research focuses on the cross-cultural interaction and the acceptance of Chinese art overseas in the early twentieth century, especially the complementary activities between the literati in Shanghai and Western collectors.
Prior to coming to Penn State, she has done curatorial work in museums include the Zhejiang Art Museum in Hangzhou, China, the Art Museum of China Academy of Art in Hangzhou. She has also published articles in journals such as ICMA Newsletter, Ji Lin University of Arts Journal. Her exhibition review “Radical Body: Artistic Consensus” was nominated for the International Awards for Art Criticism (IAAC), Ⅳ, 2017. This year, she will be serving as a teaching assistant for an Art History class and graduate assistant for the Palmer museum.
