Study Abroad Fellowship

TOWNLEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FOR STUDY OR RESEARCH ABROAD IN THE HISTORY OF ART

 

Purpose and Eligibility: 

The purpose of this award is to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding undergraduate students majoring in Art History at Penn State, who are planning to participate in a study abroad program or to travel for scholarly research. 

Eligibility: Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students majoring in Art History who

(a) are in good academic standing,

(b) intend to continue their education to a B.A. degree in Art History and

(c) have applied to participate in a study abroad program, or are planning to travel for specific research purposes related to a scholarly project.

 

Application Procedure: 

To apply for this award, the applicant must send:

(a)  a letter of intent describing the proposed study abroad program or research agenda and how it would benefit the applicant’s objectives in the field of art history;

(b)  a description of how the award will be used and, if appropriate, a detailed budget;

(c)  a brief nomination email to the Undergraduate Programs Coordinator, Dr. Charlotte Houghton (cmh17@psu.edu), from a faculty member familiar with the applicant’s work and goals.
