The Curatorial Team that Dr. William Dewey (Associate Professor of Art History & Director of the African Studies Program, Penn State) has been Working with at UCLA’s Fowler Museum has Received a NEH Grant in Support of the Upcoming Major Exhibition, Striking Iron: The Art of African Blacksmiths.

William Dewey, associate professor of art history, has been appointed interim Director of the African Studies Program in the College of the Liberal Arts for a two-year term, 2015-2017.  During this period he will be teaching one course per semester in the Department of Art History.

Carolyn Lucarelli (Curator of Visual Resources, Department of Art History) and Patrick McGrady (Affiliate Assistant Professor of Art History and Charles V. Hallman Curator, Palmer Museum of Art) made a presentation on “Omeka: A Practical Solution for Small Museum Needs” at the Omeka Special Interest Group, at the annual meeting of the Visual Resources Association, Denver, Colorado, March 11, 2015.
