Anthony Cutler, Evan Pugh University Professor in Art History, has been invited to lecture at Columbia University (NY, NY) on "Inhabited Architecture: A Pervasive Motif in Medieval Art and Modern Theory,” February 25, 2016. On February 26th, Professor Cutler will be conducting an all-day, “hands-on” workshop on Byzantine and Islamic ivories at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Nancy Locke, Associate Professor of Art History, will deliver the paper, “Carl Einstein, African Art, and Cubist Sculpture” as part of the panel Formalism Before Clement Greenberg at the annual meeting of the College Art Association in Washington, DC, February 5, 2016.
